What are dental implants?
A Dental Implant is an artificial root made of titanium metal that is inserted in the jawbone in order to replace the root of your natural tooth. Dental Implants are done to replace damaged or missing teeth, with artificial one that look and functions like natural teeth’s. Once the implant is inserted, an artificial tooth (crown or denture) is placed on top of the abutment of the implant, giving you the look of a new tooth.
Who performs this procedure?
Usually, your dentist will refer you to a dental specialist such as a Maxillofacial surgeon or Periodontist who specializes in dental implants. Here at The Dental House, Dr. Drapeau-McNally has over 25 years experience providing this service to his patients. He provides all aspects of both Surgical and Restorative Implant Dentistry. On the surgical side, he also provides bone grafting to build up the bone to receive and handle an implant. He does Sinus grafting to offset the dropping of sinuses after extractions in the upper posterior of the mouth. Furthermore, he does soft tissue grafting to provide a better aesthetic result with the Restorative aspect of Implant Dentistry delivery.
This may be considered an advantage as the patient only deals with one person for the entire procedure. NO traveling between dental offices, no differences of opinions, as you have a person going step by step with you for the entirety of the process. Dr. Drapeau-McNally works with approximately 12-15 other dental offices on a referral basis for consultation regarding Implant Dentistry and also welcomes self-referrals.
We feel privileged at The Dental House to offer this service.
